6 Delicious Ways to Use Watermelon this Summer (aside from just eating it out of a bowl)

As soon as it’s July, you better believe that I’m going to have watermelon in my fridge 24/7. Not only is it one of the most refreshing summer snacks on its own, it’s also an extremely versatile ingredient. People may not realize that they can use watermelon from the moment they wake up to the moment they go to sleep.

Check out some of these inventive ways to use up summer’s favorite fruit!

  1. Smoothies and Slushies
    Because of the watermelon’s high water content, it’s the perfect ingredient to blend up in your morning smoothie. You won’t need to add as much liquid, which often dilutes the flavor of your smoothie, because the watermelon adds that extra liquid all on its own. Try cutting your watermelon into cubes and then freezing them - they’ll turn into a delicious flavored ice cubes you can blend to thicken and chill your morning drink!

    Due to watermelon’s circular shape, it’s the perfect ingredient to use to whip up this spin on an Italian classic.
